National Young "Lampoon's" Christmas 2007

Well, we managed to survive Christmas. Between Matt getting slippers that didn't match, dad getting a leopard print cosmetic bag, the boys opening their presents so fast to try and find their Wii that they have no idea who got them what, to everyone poking and prodding at little Landry to make her arrival we are all in one piece!

From what I hear, Marcus took a little spill and was almost laid up like "Dizzy Ron" as Shannon is so lovingly calling dad. He is still a bit "off" and hasn't gone back to work yet.

Everyone came to our house last night and the twins, respective spouses and the boys played NERF ATTACK all through the house with all the Nerf guns the boys got. Kevin Loves Becky so much he shot her in the eye :-) TB, Matt, and everyone jammed to Guitar Hero III and then they all challenged each other on the Wii.

I think the most entertaining portion was their flash card contest. They took the boys' addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division cards and tried to see who could answer the fastest.....From some of the answers we heard they all need to go back to elementary school!!!

Needless to say it was a great Christmas and we are so glad we got to see them all. I know they were all disappointed there was no baby, though.

Work Baby Shower - 12/17/07

I must say, I work with the best people on the planet. They went above and beyond getting Landry everything left she really needed! I think our baby shopping/getting stuff is finally complete (hopefully anyway)! From activity centers, to bottles, to rattles, baby gates, and spoons we got it all!! Thanks Higg!! Be sure to check out the picture of the cake! It's great & matches the baby's nursery exactly!! It was strawberry and yummy!!

I will post a picture of my belly a bit later. I figure I should do it weekly now since we don't know when Landry is going to make her appearance!
For those of you curious about my Target vendetta. I had to get over it. We did Secret Santa at work and I needed their dollar section!

Karate Belt Testing 12-8-07

Toby is officially an advanced orange belt now. His next test is in February for his green belt. From there he has to decide if he wants to continue because he will enter into black belt training and it is a 3 year commitment and very pricey! Golf, karate, or baseball........which one will he choose......Stay tuned!

I'm also posting a picture from Scout's football banquet a couple of weeks ago. He received his football trophy and won the drawing for the "girlie" trophy"!

Just so everyone knows.....

I don't want to be accused of not telling everyone so here it is. Last night (11/26) we spent the evening in the hospital having my labor/contractions stopped. I got home and we went to dinner. By the time we got home the contractions were so close I decided to call the doctor. She told me I was probably dehydrated and to drink some water and lay down for about a hour. She said if I was still having them to go ahead and head to the hospital to check checked out.

Well, I couldn't make it a hour. 20 minutes later we're off to the hospital. The contractions were coming close and strong. They watched me for about 2 hours and finally decided to give me drugs to stop it. I had dilated a bit more since my visit last week to the doc, but none while I was hooked up on the monitor so they finally let me come home.

Toby was bored to death and Brian was intrigued by the monitor and was so encouraging.....NOT!!! His comments about how that contraction didn't look so bad or that one looks like it hurt did not make me smile. I told him that was a trial run and if he makes comments like that when the time is real I will kill him.

Anyway, all is well today!

And You Think I Am Huge

OK, for all of you that think my belly is big, check out my friend Tara's. She is due 2 weeks before I am and she makes me not even look pregnant (ha, ha)!! I went to San Antonio this past weekend for her shower. I hurt just looking at her.

On another note, for those that wish to know why I am on an I hate Target tirade. I received 2 of the same gift at my shower. I went to try and exchange one of them for another item. I didn't receive a gift receipt, but I assumed since I was registered and they track those things I would be able to exchange without a problem.........NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have a new return/exchange policy that went into effect on August 1st that states if you do not have a receipt then you can only make 2 returns/exchanges per 12 months and the item cannot be over $20.00. Well, the item I had cost $20.99 so they wouldn't let me exchange it. I went round and round with them before asking to speak to a manager. Long story short, the manager told me I was SOL, but she said the whole phrase. I was/still am furious. I came home, deleted my registery and faxed and mailed a letter the to CEO, President, and VP of Customer Relations. Again, I HATE TARGET and that just kills me because I really love Target!!

28 Weeks - Officially the 3rd Trimester & Baby Shower Day!!!

Here is my 28 week picture. It's from the shower today. The shower was great. Terra, Shannon, Natalie, and Jessica did a wonderful job! Be sure to actually scroll through all the pictures and not just look at the flash slide show. You've got to check out this diaper cake Shannon & Terra made that consisted of almost 700 diapers. The shower was great, I got a lot of cute stuff and I got to see a lot of people I haven't seen in a really long time! For those of you far away, I wish you could've been here. We played lots of silly games and ate some really yummy food!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

So we had a great night of Halloween fun!! Kelly came over and went with the boys trick or treating. Everyone loved our house and asked where we bought stuff!!

Although a first did happen this evening. A pumpkin almost caught our house on fire. Our neighbor happen to realize our doorway was on fire and kicked the pumpkin out onto the side walk. Thank God she was outside or I would've had a "great" story to tell - the year the pregnant lady set her house on fire on Halloween!!! I had just shut the door from giving kids candy, so I guess they kicked it over!!!

Walking with Dinosaurs - The Live Experience

Today we took the boys to see Walking with Dinosaurs - The Live Experience at the AA Center thanks to Dad's instruction. They had a lot of fun. The show was really cool. The dinosaurs were huge and looked real. We would highly recommend it if it comes to your town!! There were so many pictures that I stole Becky's slide show!!

Toby had his belt testing on Saturday. He's now officially an Orange Belt and can you believe he's actually smiling in the picture! Scout had another football game against the Longhorns. They blew them out again 31 to 0, but it wasn't as bad as last time. Scout got in a few good blocks! He's # 91.

State Fair of Texas

We took the boys to the State Fair today. I think they had a lot of fun. They rode rides, stuffed their faces and got to look at all the cool cars. They wanted to stay longer, but wow it was hot and it is so expensive! It was 14 tickets just for a turkey leg. Brian and I stayed with the old favorite of corny dogs and funnel cake!!

We also let the boys get a character picture down! Brian and I were laughing as the guy drew it! It looks just like them.......you'll see

Suburbia Hell

Well, we officially live in Suburbia Hell now complete the the DVD entertainment system. I guess I'm officially the baseball, football, or karate mom depending on the day!
Brian traded in his truck, but somehow I'm the one that is going to end up driving the monster! Stay out of the way because I sure as heck can't park the thing!

20 Weeks, and 1 Day

20 weeks down and 20 to go. No names yet. Be sure to scroll down to see pictures from Scout's first football game.

Scout's First Football Game - Go Thunderbirds!!

Scout had his first football game yesterday! He is on the Thunderbirds and is number 91 on the offense. He plays Right Guard. They played the Longhorns and got romped. We told Scout not to be too disappointed, though because they are the best team in their league.
Scout said he knew that and he kept trying to pump up his team, but they wouldn't listen. He said he knew they have a lot of games left and it can only get better!!

I'll post the 20 week pregnant belly later on!

As if we all hadn't already guessed it! She is healthy and has all fingers and toes!! No signs of complications. She's measuring exactly 18 weeks, 6 days and weighs about 8 oz. So now everyone can go out and start buying things - NO PINK! I HATE PINK!!! Remember this as you are tempted to buy girlie things!!!!

We had our Level II Ultrasound, Brian had never seen anything like that before. It's really cool! All is well, only 21 weeks to go!

Vacation Day 7 - Karate Belt Testing & The Star Wars Exhibit

We spent our last official day of vacation back home. We started the day with Toby's karate belt testing. He is now an advanced yellow belt. After that we ventured to Grapevine to eat at The Rainforest Cafe and from there to the Museum of Science and History to the STAR WARS exhibit. Brian and I are pooped. We need a vacation just to recoup from this one!

Vacationing with kids is exhausting. We are happy we were able to do it, though. This one was special to us as it is the last one we will have with the boys before the baby is born. We hope we filled their heads with memories for years to come!
