Landry Walking on Christmas Night

This is what happened last night after
the hussle and bussle of the day......
See everybody, I really can walk!
OK, I have no idea how to edit and I know this is long.
She really gets moving about 5 minutes in.....

Landry's First Christmas

Landry's first Christmas was full of excitement, including the official pouting and stomping of the feet when Toby didn't get what he asked for from Santa. Santa wrote the boys a letter to share their presents this year, but it didn't go over to well. The boys got Rockband and a PSP. They got a few other things from Santa, too. A dart board, etc.

Landry got a Laugh & Learn Kitchen/family room. She seems to enjoy it. She also got a drum kit complete with a tambourine.

We got the boys NFL shirts that were customized with their names. They thought it was pretty cool.

Grandpa, Nana, Memaw, and Gary all came over for Christmas lunch. The pecan pie actually cooked this time unlike at Thanksgiving. It was a good day.

We went the Grandma and Papa's on Christmas Eve. Landry went right to Uncle Dennis and stayed with him the whole time. As far as everyone else, she still won't go to them.

The night was completed with Landry walking all over the place. I'm going to figure out how to upload video sometime today so you can all see!

Christmas at Dad's

We had Christmas at dad's house yesterday. Everyone was there except Chris and Sarah. He promised her he would take her home to Washington for Christmas this year. We had a good time. Landry is walking somewhat so we tried to make her show off, but she wasn't much in the mood. She's going through "Stranger Danger" right now and won't have anything to do with anyone she does not recognize.

Nana made Landry a really cute sweater with built in mittens and hat. She didn't mind wearing it at all! Dad and Anne are coming to our house on Christmas day so we'll have the boys Christmas then.

It was Kevin and Becky's last Christmas home for a while as they will be leaving to start their adventure in China on January 5th. I was fine til we had to come home, then the water works started. I'm getting all mushy in my old age.

Hope you all have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Toby's First Band Concert

Toby had his first band concert last Thursday night.  I was dreading it as I remember how horrible our band was the first year I started.  I was amazed at how good they sounded.  I was really impressed.  I thought they sounded better than the 7th grade band.

He's playing percussion right now, but he has no rhythm, so he'll be dropping band in the spring and taking private lessons on the clarinet.  Then he will audition for the band in May for next year.

Landry's First Visit to Santa Claus

So we piled in the car today to take Landry to her first visist and experience with Santa.  2 of Santa's reindeer were there, too, Donner and Blitzen.  We had to wait in line about a hour, but she did really well.  She watched the reindeer.  We were pleasantly surprised that she did not cry why I set her on Santa's lap.  It took her a couple of minutes to realize where she was and then the tears came, but it wasn't a scream thank goodness!

The boys told Santa they didn't know what they wanted for Christmas.  I guess Santa will just have to guess this year!

Landry's First Thanksgiving

Well, Landry enjoyed her first Thanksgiving, although her brothers were not here to share it with her.  She was dressed in her Dallas Cowboy outfit to watch the "big game" with her daddy.  Dad, Anne, Memaw, Gary, Terra and Matt came to our house this year.  It made it a lot easier on us keeping us from dragging around all the baby crap!

Landry tried all the food, but her favorite by far was the fresh cranberry sauce.  I put all her food in a bowl and she dumped it on her tray and dabbled at it.  She had turkey, stuffing, mac & cheese, cranberry sauce, rolls, and some key lime pie.
Later that night we watched as Matt almost had a coronary yelling at the TV as Texas A&M was slaughtered by the Texas Longhorns.  I thought Brian got upset at the Cowboys sucking, whew......he's an angel compared to Matt!  Just kidding, he wasn't that bad!

Terra and I played with Landry in her play room and TB decided to put her in her toy box to play and then took lots of pictures of her in it......

On Friday, she took a long, long nap......she was exhausted from all the eating and football on Thursday I guess.......this is how she woke up!   FUNNY ISN'T IT!!

On Saturday, Landry and I went Christmas shopping at Wal-Mart.  It was dead, no one was there.  We got all the shopping done and then came home and put up the Christmas tree.  Landry loved all the lights.

On Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I took some pictures of Landry in her Aggies dress. Enjoy the pics from our Thanksgiving Weekend! I can't believe she's going to be ONE in less than a month :-(

Disciple Now Weekend 2008

So this weekend was DNow at the church! We (OK I) volunteered our house to be a host home. We had 8, 6th grade girls at our house. We were scared, but they were so polite and well behaved that we were amazed! The weekend was fun. Saturday morning we got up and headed to the church for FOOD FIGHT. This isn't like it sounds. It was a race to see which group could collect the most cans in less than 1 hour. Our group got 296. Total though, the youth collected over 14,000 cans for the Austin Community Pantry in less than a hour. After that it was back to the house for lunch and a breakout session.

Then back to the church for the Bigger and Better Scavenger Hunt. We started with a pencil and had to trade up. All the items collected were being auctioned off in a silent auction today at the church to raise money for a Christian college in India. We ended up with a Bible. It definitely wasn't the biggest, but our angle was what is truly better.

After that, the kids had dinner at the church and then a prayer and praise service. Wow, what an experience to look into The Rock (that's what the youth building is called at the church) and hearing over 450 students singing praise to God.
Here is a picture of our group. Hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels for those we won't see!

Family Camp Weekend

Well, we were suppose to have a great experience at our family camp weekend back on October 10th. Instead, we all got the stomach bug and had to come home before we got to do anything. Here are a few random pics we got while the boys were sick, but it hadn't made it to us. And yes, I know I'm fat, no need to comment obnoxious ones!

Also, there are some random pics we took on my birthday of Landry in the bath with her bubbles beard and green bean mustache! And her two handed bottle act!

Landry's First Halloween

We'll Landry's first halloween wasn't to eventful. Neither one of the boys were here, so not a lot of excitement. Actually, Halloween was a major disappointment this year. We live on the very last (back) street in our neighborhood so we hardly got any trick or treaters. Although, the ones we did get our zombie scared the bejesus out of them (including Landry as you can see)! Toby did stop by long enough for us to snap his pic. Landry pooped out about 7:30, so that was all she wrote!

Although, prior to that she was practicing standing without holding on to anything. She was a able to do it a super long time. Maybe one day, I'll figure out how to upload video!

Landry's 9 Month Photos

Instead of having Landry's pictures made at the studio for her 9 month pics, we decided to head to the Dallas Arboretum by White Rock Lake so Brian could try out his new fancy camera lens. They were having the annual Pumpkin Patch! Enjoy!! She goes to the doctor on Monday for her 9 month well-baby exam so I'll post her stats then.

Scout's Game at Texas Stadium

So Scout had his first football game of the season yesterday at Texas Stadium, home to those famous Dallas Cowboys. His team didn't win, but they had a lot of fun. How many kids get the chance to say they played at Texas Stadium and have sat on the same benches as Terrell Owens and Tony Romo! It was definitely a once in a lifetime game! Scout is #91 and plays left tackle. Landry did real well, she was watching everything going on intently.

When we got home, Brian went to get gas, but never made it there. He turned the corner and this kid, maybe 13 years old, darted across the street on his skateboard. Only he never made it. He slammed right into the side of the Suburban and knocked the side mirror clear off with his head. Brian slammed on the brakes and thought the kid had fallen under the car and that he ran over him. Praise God, it knocked him backwards. He chipped his tooth, but said he was OK. By the time the police got here, the kid and his grandpa had left to go pick up tacos. The police advised we needed a report detailing what happened because the dad advised them he would not speak to them, that he's hired an attorney because Brian ran over his son. Thankfully, the police report totally contradicts this and the police advised the grandparents and dad that the boy didn't have the right away and it's clear that Brian didn't hit him.....so stay tuned.

8 Months Old Today - August 31, 2008

Time is really flying. Landry is 8 months old today and still has NO teeth! Her bottom 2 are trying real hard to pop through but no luck yet. No teeth aren't stopping her from eating, though. Her favorite is Club crackers, but she likes Cheerio's, Nilla Wafer Mini's, and Mini Ritz with Cheese, too. And Raspberries, can't forget those! She tried a pickle at dinner, but wasn't sure what to make of it.

We got her a little car at the Goodwill that she can ride on or push. She likes it. Although, we about fell over today when we were at Ashley furniture. They had those little cart things that look like cars with the steering wheels. We put her in it and she started turning the wheel like she was driving it.

Her new favorite game is kicking her brothers in the head while her daddy holds her. You should hear her giggles!

The boys started school on Monday. Toby started Middle school, yes, I said Middle school. He's in the band playing percussion. Scout is playing football again this fall, and oh..Brian got fired for being too experienced of a boat sale rep, oops! Happy Labor Day Everyone!

P.S. - Don't miss the pics of Landry in her Aggie Cheerleading outfit!!

5 Year Anniversary

So Brian and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary this past Sunday. He was actually able to pull one past me and order me flowers with out me finding out on one of my daily credit card charges search!! They were really pretty and I was shocked. I gave him gift #1 on Friday night which was a new camera lense for his camera. He loved it. All the pictures you'll see were taken with it. You won't be able to tell online, but it makes a HUGE difference.

Sunday night, our actuall anniversary, dad came over and watched Landry so we could go out to dinner. We went to Nick & Sam's in Dallas. It was really nice. I was also able to give Brian his favorite rum that can only be bought in Grand Cayman thanks to my good friend Kelly who went there on vacation and I begged her and her hubby to bring it back.

I can't believe it's been 5 years already. Time really does fly! Enjoy the pics and check out the close up's on Landry and see how BLUE her eyes are! There are some pics of Scout's football practice, too!
